Hudson Valley, NY Athlete Guide
2021 Hudson Valley Athlete Guide will be found here in April 2021
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
CORONAVIRUS COVID-19: (Updated 08/01/2020) The Town of Rosendale advised us that due to New York State COVID-19 protocols they would not issue a permit for the HITS Hudson Valley triathlon race that was to have taken place on October 10, 2020. Consequently, we were forced to cancel the event. We know this was as disappointing and frustrating for those who were registered for the race as it was for us. We had been preparing to deliver a safe and enjoyable racing experience.
Athletes who were registered for the 2020 event were automatically transferred to the 2021 Hudson Valley race, which will take place on June 26, 2021. However, in keeping with our COVID-19 policy, we also offered the following options: a) transferring to any other Alpha Win Triathlon Series race at no cost, or b) receiving a refund of the registration fee.
Please check back to this site often as we continue to provide regular updates.
WET SUITS:
When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however, that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. They must be removed from age group and overall competition and cannot be sent to USAT for rankings. HITS will record times for these participants but will not post the names and times in final race results.
Participants may not wear wet suits at water temperatures equal to or greater than 84 degrees Fahrenheit.
PARKING: There is adequate parking onsite at 424 Williams Lake Rd, Kingston, NY 12401 for athletes and their families and friends. However, for the safety of the athletes, no vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit the race sites between 7:00 AM and Noon on race day. If you arrive after 7:00 AM or wish to leave prior to Noon, you may park at the Binnewater Kiln Parking Lot. This lot is less than 1 mile south of the race site on the west side of Binnewater Rd, just past Iron Mountain. It is an easy walk or ride to the race site. There will be no shuttle service.
