Before Race Day

What You Need To Know

Everything you need for a smooth race weekend at the Walkway Over the Hudson. Read through before you arrive, and reach out if anything's unclear.

Packet Pickup & Check-In

Half & Full Marathon athletes must pick up their bib before race day (Fri at Fleet Feet Poughkeepsie or Sat at the pre-race party). 5K, 10K & Mile athletes may check in race morning. Bring a photo ID. Race-day check-in closes 30 minutes before each start.

Getting to the Start

The race site is the Walkway Over the Hudson, 87 Haviland Rd, Highland, NY. Parking is first-come, first-served; overflow is at the Tractor Supply Lot (0.9 mi). There is no shuttle — carpooling is strongly encouraged. See the Travel page for directions.

Gear & What to Bring

Dress for early-May Hudson Valley mornings (layers). Pin your bib to the front. Bag check is available at the start. Headphones are permitted but keep the volume low so you can hear course marshals.

On-Course Support

Aid stations along the course carry water and Zym electrolyte drink; Cadence energy gels are available at Mile 3.1, 6, 10 and the Marathon turnaround. All courses are out-and-back on the Walkway — see the Course Map for turnarounds and pace groups.

Rules & Cut-offs

Follow all course marshal and USATF guidance. Every distance turns around at its marked point and returns on the same route to finish. Awards go to the top finishers in each division — you must be present at the ceremony.
