New Updates to the 2022 Lake George Triathlon Festival

Lake George, NY (July 13, 2022)        Alpha Win is proud to announce some exciting new updates to the annual Lake George Triathlon Festival.  Since acquiring the event in 2021, Alpha Win has been working on some new features to continue to make the race an exciting and safe experience for athletes.

Courses

These changes are highlighted by a new run course for Sunday’s Sprint and Olympic distance races. This will provide athletes a chance to run alongside the lake and through Lake George Village next to hundreds of spectators. Additionally, for the swim, all distances will now be starting at Million Dollar Beach. Athletes who race will enjoy a variety of new swag, including race belts, swim caps, and Lake George Triathlon jackets.

USAT Championship

The Lake George Triathlon Festival is now the first ever USAT-sanctioned New York State Championship event. On Sunday, September 4th, Age Group and High School Athletes will have a chance to compete to win the NYS championship in their respective age group. The top five finishers in each age group will qualify for USAT Nationals. The race will also remain a sanctioned North East Collegiate Triathlon Conference (NECTC) event.

Dinner on the lake

The festival weekend will also feature a dinner and festivities while aboard the Lake George Steamboat on Friday, September 2nd. All of the local triathlon clubs will be recognized at this event. The Lake George Steamboat Company has operated on Lake George for over 200 years since it was founded back in 1817 and is a staple of the Lake George area.

Charity Partner

Alpha Win is proud to be partnering with the Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC). The LGLC is an accredited, non-profit land trust based out of Bolton Landing, NY. They are dedicated to working with willing landowners and other partners to protect the world-renowned water quality of Lake George and to permanently preserve the natural, scenic, historic and recreational resources of the Lake George region. Packet Pick-up

Athletes for all distances will now be able to pick up their race day packets throughout the week leading up to the race at Sunrise Cafe in Bolton Landing. Packet pick-up will be available at Sunrise Cafe from 9am-5pm Monday, August 29th through Thursday, September 1st. Sunrise Cafe is located at 8 Sagamore Road in Bolton Landing, NY. There will be additional packet pick-up on Friday, September 2nd at Battlefield State Park, and for Sunday racers, there will also be a chance to pick up your packet on Saturday, September 3rd at the Lake George Beach Club. These locations and times are subject to change so please keep an eye on our website and prerace email blasts.
